Description
As a Senior DevOps Engineer / Tech Lead, you operate as the technical backbone of the NL-Wallet (Ops) team. You combine deep technical expertise with a broad understanding of software architecture, development processes, and operational management. In this role, you take end-to-end management responsibility for software developed externally, ensuring a smooth transition into the environment.
You will lead the technical onboarding of the NL-Wallet application, including taking over the source code, building the app, configuring the platform, and preparing the backend for production use. You actively participate in defining architectural choices, improving existing systems, and implementing new functionalities. Working closely with architects, product owners, functional and technical management, you act as the multidisciplinary bridge that brings structure, clarity, and technical direction.

Skill Expertise
Application, Information, System, and Technical Architecture minimum HBO-level
Kubernetes (Public \& Private Cloud) — cluster management, deployment, scaling, security
Docker \& Containerization — building, managing, and deploying containerized applications
Helm — creating, managing, and automating Helm charts and Kubernetes deployments
CI/CD Pipelines — automation, testing, secure deployments
Monitoring \& Logging — ELK, Grafana, Prometheus
Cloud Infrastructure — setup, maintenance, performance tuning
Database Knowledge — tuning, schema design, capacity management
Software Development — Java, C++, Rust, Ruby, or other high-level languages
Security \& Compliance — translating eIDAS and GDPR (AVG) into technical requirements
Mobile App Production Management — readiness, scalability, operational continuity
Process \& Methodologies
DevOps and SRE practices
SAFe / Agile experience
Technical leadership — guiding teams, making architectural decisions, mentoring
Required Experience
5+ years Kubernetes
experience in public and/or private cloud environments
5+ years Docker/containerization
experience
5+ years monitoring \& logging
experience (ELK / Grafana stack)
3+ years’ experience working in a
DevOps
team using SAFe
Willingness to work minimum 2 days per week onsite in The Hague
SAFe/Agile
certifications (or willingness to obtain on short notice)
