The Product Manager is responsible for one or more OntarioMD digital health products established to meet the needs of physician and nurse practitioner clinics, and to align with the OntarioMD corporate strategic plan.
The Product Manager will oversee all aspects of the lifecycle and business operations of the identified product(s) including establishing and/or contributing to the product strategy and roadmap and managing the product(s) through its lifecycle, support product adoption, product management and governance. This includes quality management, ongoing measurement against key performance indicators, and product enhancements through the product/service roadmap.
The Product Manager is responsible for user engagement with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure usability and to deliver high-value products, as well as enhancements to existing products.
This is a 15-month contract with potential to extend.
Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Product Delivery, and working with one or more additional managers in a matrix reporting environment, this role will undertake the following as well as other duties, as assigned:
1. Establish and/or contribute to the product roadmap and manage the product/service through its lifecycle:* Work with a variety of stakeholders, partners, and vendors to identify opportunities to define and improve products/services, implementation methodologies, and business processes.
Conduct jurisdictional scans to assess product/service against sector comparables, and consider innovations implemented elsewhere.
Conduct user surveys, and convene product/service user groups to collect, analyze, and prioritize potential enhancements.
Collect and analyze feedback from customers, partners and other teams to shape requirements, features and products/services.
Work with internal team(s) to create product plans, solutions, roadmaps, and coordinate with cross-functional teams for delivery and/or release management and work with internal and external teams to comply with roadmap.
Participate in the development and execution of product business development and communication plans.
Maintain a prioritized backlog and contribute to user stories, acceptance criteria, and other artifacts to support internal teams in delivering on product priorities.
Ensure adherence to corporate standard processes and policies, including business/IT services, tools and protocols.
Transition digital health projects to operational state: Working closely with stakeholders, supporting the transition of initiatives from project state to business operations as per OntarioMD’s operational framework.
2. Manage day-to-day business operations for the designated product(s):* Lead and carry out activities related to ongoing client adoption, including engagement with internal/external delivery partners for deployment, change management, and client engagement.
Build, maintain, and effectively communicate the schedule for new product development projects to all levels of leadership, both internally and externally.
Support release management processes, ensuring clients are kept informed at every key milestone, including facilitating client UAT (distribution of test plans, collecting and actioning feedback, etc.).
Provide day-to-day direction for product team and cross-departmental resources assigned to the designated product(s).
Working closely with internal and external technical/solution partners, ensure appropriate service levels are monitored, and vendor relationships are maintained.
Working closely with the stakeholders (e.g., PMO), ensure appropriate key performance indicators and operational business objectives are established and reported to various stakeholders, including OntarioMD executive management.
Work with our clients to answer product questions and solve for product needs, build test plans, and deliver product improvements; be a trusted advisor and expert of our product capabilities; and provide needed business support to issue escalations.
Lead benefits evaluation and research initiatives to demonstrate the ongoing value of the product.
Requirements that are important to us:* University degree / College diploma in Business Administration, Health Administration, Information Technology or equivalent.
Five (5) years of experience as a product manager, preferably in a technical environment/software development organization(s).
Three (3) years’ experience with Ontario healthcare information technology initiatives, with a preference for line of business management or similar healthcare experience.
Certified Product Manager (CPM) credential, or equivalent certification is required.
Agile certification (e.g., CSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe) is preferred, with demonstrated experience applying Agile methodologies in complex IT projects.
Project Management Certification is preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario healthcare sector.
Experience with benefits evaluations, customer surveys, workshops and product strategy development.
Experience with delivery in traditional or agile software development lifecycle.
Well-developed consulting skills to gather information, achieve consensus and deliver quality solutions.
Knowledge of project cost and financial management including planning, budgeting, controlling, administration and reporting.
Able to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners.
Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills, and able to present technical topics to non-technical audiences.
In-depth working knowledge of a variety of computer software including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Project).
