Job Description

Who We Are

Open Government Products (OGP)

operates like a startup within the government; We are a fast-paced, dynamic team of engineers, designers, and product managers dedicated to public good. We autonomously identify opportunities to solve public problems using tech, rapidly prototype, and launch solutions—from citizen apps to automating public agency operations. Embracing an open-sourced and flat hierarchy, we cut through bureaucracy to focus on real-world, user-centric innovations that drive change.

The Team

Armoury helps frontline agencies digitise checklists so they can

respond faster, stay compliant, and save lives

. Already deployed in every fire station, it is expanding to hospitals, the Immigration \& Checkpoints Authority (ICA), and the Singapore Prison Service. Our mission:

equip frontline officers with digital tools so they can focus on saving lives, not paperwork.

We co-create with agencies like the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), turning experiments into nation-wide systems.

About the Role

We’re looking for a

frontline officers depend on every day

.

This role is ideal for engineers who value

technical depth, product thinking, and mission-driven impact

.

What You’ll Do

Build and ship full-stack features

— from frontend components to backend services and data pipelines.

Design for reliability and scale

— ensuring systems remain robust under real-world operational constraints.

Collaborate across disciplines

— working with designers, PMs, and agency users to translate needs into pragmatic solutions.

Continuously improve developer experience

— enhancing tooling, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and documentation.

Contribute to technical direction

— shaping architecture and best practices through your craft and judgement.

Prototype and iterate quickly

— test hypotheses, validate user value, and refine features based on feedback.

Tech Stack

TypeScript, React, Node.js / Next.js

PostgreSQL and REST APIs

Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Pulumi) and modern DevOps tooling

Optional: LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval pipelines (for those keen on AI integrations)

You Might Be a Good Fit If You:

Have strong proficiency in

TypeScript, React, and backend development

(Node.js or similar).

Understand how to design maintainable APIs, data models, and frontend architectures.

Care deeply about

users

, especially non-technical ones who rely on your systems in critical environments.

Are comfortable taking ownership from problem discovery to production.

Communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating across functions.

Are curious about how AI, automation, and modern web tooling can improve government systems.

We don’t expect you to tick every box — if you’re excited by the mission and eager to grow, we want to hear from you.

Working at OGP

Ownership and Autonomy

— Beyond technical tasks, this means having autonomy to voice opinions and suggest future directions. Building what you believe in drives the creation of great solutions.

Flexibility

— We provide flexible work arrangements based on what works best for our team and its members, fostering a productive and supportive environment.

Continuous Learning

— Drive professional growth by exploring new architectures, frameworks, and technologies. With dedicated yearly learning months and hackathons, continuous learning is essential as we tackle innovative ideas and challenges.

Mission-Driven
