About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer specializing in Security Observability to join our dynamic Security team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable systems that enhance our security observability infrastructure. Your expertise will enable us to monitor, analyze, and respond to security threats more effectively. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Detection \& Response (D\&R) and other security units, you will develop robust software solutions that improve our security posture and forensic capabilities. This position offers flexibility for remote work, with relocation assistance available to our offices in San Francisco, Seattle, or New York City.
Qualifications
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Golang, or similar
Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform
Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms, particularly Azure
Strong background in building and maintaining data pipelines for security-related data
Knowledge of security monitoring, detection, and forensic investigation practices
Familiarity with site reliability engineering (SRE) principles
Ability to collaborate effectively with security and engineering teams
Proactive problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Experience in designing scalable and resilient data systems
Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable software systems to facilitate comprehensive security observability across OpenAI’s infrastructure
Build and maintain data pipelines that centralize security-relevant data from diverse sources
Enhance the resilience and reliability of data systems to ensure high platform availability
Collaborate with Detection \& Response teams to identify and mitigate security risks effectively
Support forensic investigations and compliance efforts through data engineering
Proactively identify opportunities to improve security data visibility and forensic capabilities
Implement security best practices in software development and data management
Stay updated with emerging security threats and technologies to continuously improve security infrastructure
