What would you do?

As a Cloud Engineer III you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining virtualization environments as well as managing core infrastructure services. Additionally, you will contribute to automation efforts with scripting tools and be part of an on-call rotation to handle critical incidents.

What are the details?

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and support virtualization environments across Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere platforms

Manage and maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related domain services

Administer and optimize storage platforms, including SAN, and software-defined storage systems

Support and troubleshoot production cloud environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance

Collaborate with networking, systems, and backup teams to deliver seamless cloud solutions

Perform capacity planning, patching, and upgrades across hypervisor and storage environments

Participate in client migrations, onboarding, and infrastructure expansion projects

Develop and maintain system documentation, operational runbooks, and configuration standards

Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives using PowerShell or other scripting tools

Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents as needed

What do you know?

Knowledge and Experience:

10 years of IT experience with 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, design, and troubleshooting of enterprise Hyper-V or VMware Cloud

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Hyper-V and SCVMM administration and deployment

Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi preferred

Experience with VMware Cloud Director, NSX, and VCF is a plus

Deep understanding of Active Directory architecture, domain trusts, and authentication services

Hands-on experience managing enterprise storage systems (e.g., NetApp, HPE, or similar)

Familiarity with Windows Server environments, clustering, and performance optimization

Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, storage, and virtualization layers

Experience with backup and replication technologies (e.g., Veeam, Zerto) preferred

Scripting or automation experience with PowerShell, CLI, or infrastructure-as-code tools is a plus

Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with clients and cross-functional teams

Ability to work independently with ownership of deployments and escalations

Ability to mentor team members on troubleshooting, process, and build

Education \& Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server / Azure Administrator and VMware VCP are a strong plus
