Python Engineer – Financial Data Platforms – Outside IR35 – Contract
We’re looking for a Python Engineer to join a high-profile project focused on backend systems that automate complex financial and actuarial workflows. This is a hands-on role delivering backend solutions under tight deadlines in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain Python backend services using modern frameworks and CI/CD practices
Design distributed systems to handle high-volume financial and actuarial data
Develop event-driven pipelines using Pub/Sub and message queues
Implement cloud-native solutions on GCP with Docker and dbt
Collaborate with stakeholders to turn requirements into scalable technical designs
Required Skills:
Background working in asset management, insurance, or investment banking
4+ years production Python experience (FastAPI, Flask, or similar)
Experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale
Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub or message queues)
GCP and Docker experience
Experience with dbt and BigQuery (or similar cloud data warehouses)
Rate:
DOE, Outside IR35
