Job Description

Title: Senior Software Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of enterprise software systems supporting mission-critical programs. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in full stack development, cloud-native applications, and Agile environments, with the ability to deliver scalable and secure solutions.

Required Education and Experience:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field and 8+ years of software engineering experience; or

Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field and 10+ years of relevant experience; or

12+ years of directly related software engineering experience in lieu of a degree.

Core Experience Requirements:

Proven hands-on experience in at least three (3) of the following areas:

Java, JavaScript, or Python enterprise application development

Web services architecture, design, and development

Relational, spatial, or NoSQL database design

Microservices architecture and development

Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

API development and integration

Cloud-native development on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

3+ years working in Agile or Lean development environments (Scrum leadership experience a plus).

Demonstrated experience with CI/CD, test-driven development, and automated testing methodologies.

Desired Qualifications:

Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master, PMI-ACP, or Certified Scrum Professional.

Experience developing custom software components and scripts (Python, Java, JavaScript, PHP, C, or Perl).

Experience integrating and customizing geospatial COTS software and databases.

Familiarity with GIS systems, geospatial formats (KML, KMZ, NITF, TIFF, GeoPDF), and tools (ArcGIS, PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, OpenGeo Suite).

Experience abstracting new or legacy systems via standards-based APIs (e.g., Open Geospatial Consortium standards).

Background in terrain analysis, visualization, or automated detection algorithms preferred

Pay: From $130,000.00 per year
