DevOps Lead (Path to CTO) \| Hyper Growth Startup \| $150k + Super
We are working with a tech company who are looking to scale up their AU team. They build bespoke software for the recruitment space and are looking for a key hire for their team.
This will be a Senior DevOps role, leading a small Indian Team with a path to CTO.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Manage and optimise our AWS cloud infrastructure
, ensuring performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Lead and mentor a
DevOps team of 3 engineers based in India
, driving best practices and alignment.
Work closely with customer-facing teams to
investigate and resolve infrastructure and performance issues
.
Own the setup and maintenance of
CI/CD pipelines, IaC (Terraform), container orchestration
, and
infrastructure security (IAM, VPC, etc.)
.
Implement
proactive monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions
to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
Drive
automation across deployment, configuration, patching, and scaling workflows
.
Collaborate directly with clients and stakeholders
to present technical findings and explain platform decisions confidently.
Assist in
security best practices
including encryption, token management, and Cloudflare protections.
Contribute to release planning and production readiness, ensuring a smooth and auditable pipeline from code to cloud.
What You’ll Bring:
4–8 years of DevOps experience, with
minimum 2 years based in Australia
.
Strong AWS infrastructure background:
EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, ALB, RDS, CloudWatch
.
Hands-on with
Terraform
for infrastructure-as-code.
Good knowledge of
Docker
and experience with container orchestration (ECS, EKS or Kubernetes).
Comfortable with
Linux systems, scripting (Bash, Python)
and log analysis.
Experience using and configuring
Cloudflare
(WAF, CDN, DNS, firewall rules).
Experience setting up secure CI/CD pipelines using
Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similar
.
Understanding of
cloud security, secrets management, and compliance controls
.
Excellent
communication and customer-facing
capabilities — able to speak confidently with non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in mentoring or leading a small remote team — especially India-based engineering teams.
Strong documentation habits using Confluence, SOPs, and runbooks.
Salary
They offer an excellent salary of up to $150,000 + Super.
Location
3x per week - Seaford
