Typical Activities

Working in collaboration with internal stakeholders across Engineering, Products, IT, and Service teams, the DevOps Engineer will:

Design, develop, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deployment.

Use containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to ensure scalability and optimise resource allocation.

Collaborate with IT \& Service teams to configure, maintain, and monitor infrastructure for DevOps capabilities.

Develop scripts and automation to streamline workflows and reduce manual tasks.

Design and implement monitoring and logging solutions to track performance and reliability.

Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth integration of DevOps tooling and processes.

Conduct peer reviews of DevOps deliverables to maintain quality standards.

What we’re looking for

Proven experience implementing CI/CD best practices using GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI or Jenkins.

Hands-on experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.

Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Puppet).

Strong understanding of hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, on-prem).

Working knowledge of networking concepts including VPCs, firewalls, and domain separation.

Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Elastic, Prometheus or Splunk.

Ability to produce and review clear, structured technical documentation.

Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Desirable

Experience developing microservices in Rust or Go.

Familiarity with serverless or cloud function technologies.

Understanding of software supply chain security, including artefact management and vulnerability scanning.

Knowledge of SaaS and PaaS architectures.

Experience in government or defence environments.

Qualifications \& Eligibility

To be eligible for this position you must:

Hold a relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or have equivalent professional experience; and,

Be a British citizen; and

Hold or be eligible for UK National Security Vetting (NSV) – SC level clearance (DV desirable).
