Our client, a leading Asia-based Investment Bank, is expanding its Wealth Management division and is looking to hire several Java Developers

to join their dynamic team in Hong Kong.

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who are passionate about digital transformation and eager to work on complex, high-impact projects. The role involves internal workflow digitalization and building new internal systems from scratch, directly supporting the bank’s growing Wealth Management business.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with business teams to develop and implement technology solutions, actively engaging in Java development and utilizing modern technology stacks.

Work within cross-functional Agile teams to understand business requirements and convert them into technical specifications, contributing to the development of Java-based backend services, system integration, and prototyping.

Be involved throughout the entire software development life cycle (SDLC), from requirement gathering and design to development, deployment, testing, and support of wealth management systems.

Perform gap analysis and process re-engineering for both new and existing systems, pinpointing areas for automation and enhancement.

Assist in coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to confirm that solutions satisfy business needs and adhere to quality standards.

Support training for business users, develop operational documentation, and provide post-implementation assistance.

Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure alignment in delivery and foster ongoing improvement.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline; a Master’s degree or certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMP) are advantageous.

4–10 years of experience as a

Java developer

in wealth management, securities, brokerage, or banking sectors.

Hands-on Java development skills, including the ability to write, debug, and review code.

Strong knowledge of backend technologies including: Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, Git, Jenkins, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

Understanding of financial instruments (equities, bonds, funds, structured products) and related regulations.

Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

Fluent in English; Cantonese and Putonghua are preferred.
