Join Plastic Solutions Australia (PSA), a leader in providing high quality products and services to the building and construction industry!

We are on the hunt for a 2 qualified Civil Engineers with Precast Concreting experience to become a crucial part of our existing engineering team.

Design, plan and certify temporary works for precast and in‑situ concrete applications with a focus on lifting, bracing, handling, transport and erection across Australia.

You will help ensure safe, buildable solutions that comply with relevant Australian Standards and align with client programs.

Requirements

Undertake design and certification of lifting, bracing, strong backs and temporary works for precast elements (walls, façades, stairs, slabs, beams).

Prepare clear design outputs: design reports, calculations, sketches/mark‑ups and certificates, using PSA’s standard formats (CAD support as required).

Review shop drawings and erection methodologies; provide buildability advice and construction sequencing.

Apply and interpret relevant codes and guidelines: AS 3850 (Parts 1 \& 2), AS 3600, AS/NZS 1170 series, and associated manufacturer data.

Carry out stability checks for temporary conditions, including crane lifts, storage, transport, and propping.

Respond to RFIs and liaise with clients, builders, erectors, and precast manufacturers to resolve site queries promptly.

Undertake site inspections at precast yards and construction sites; prepare concise inspection notes and compliance reports.

Contribute to internal QA, templates, and calculation libraries; participate in design reviews and checking.

Collaborate with local and overseas engineering/drafting teams to meet delivery targets and quality expectations.

Champion safety, risk management, and continuous improvement in all stages of design and delivery.

Minimum 1-2 years’ technical design experience in the building industry.

Minimum 2-3 years’ experience within the precast or in situ concrete industry.

Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and CAD drawings.

Precast and in situ concrete construction design and practices.

Large building form worker and civil infrastructure processes, requirements, and contacts.

A person in PSA will be assigned as your mentor for technical training. Training of products will be provided by the PSA sales team. Support during the design process and internal systems will be provided by the team leader. On-site experience will be organised at both precast manufacturing yards and construction sites.

Qualifications:

Qualified Civil Engineer specializing in temporary works and lifting systems for concrete elements.

Qualifications recognized by Engineers Australia, or equivalent for Engineering.

Minimum 1-2 years’ technical design experience in the building industry.

Minimum 2-3 years’ experience within the precast or in situ concrete industry.

Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and CAD drawings.

Precast and in situ concrete construction design and practices.

Large building formworker and civil infrastructure processes, requirements, and contacts.

Qualified Civil / Structural Engineer specializing in temporary works and lifting systems for concrete elements.
