Position Overview:
As a Software Engineer II, you'll be a vital member of our software development team. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers and senior engineers, to create innovative software solutions. Your primary role will involve coding and programming to deliver high-quality software that meets user needs and enhances product performance. You'll contribute to software design, optimize user interfaces, and ensure efficient solutions, all while adhering to coding best practices. Your deep understanding of modern software development and coding principles will be essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Own the design and development of features and tools, ensuring maintainable, scalable code aligned with project goals.
Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on technical challenges and contributing to key engineering decisions.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, applying new knowledge to improve code quality and introduce innovative solutions.
Analyze and resolve complex issues, identifying root causes to enhance codebase stability and performance.
Collaborate with stakeholders and team members, ensuring smooth execution through effective task management and risk mitigation.
Ensure high code quality and testing standards, participating in code reviews and developing thorough test strategies.
Document technical systems and decisions, fostering clear communication and knowledge sharing within the team.
Contribute to a culture of collaboration and accountability, taking ownership of tasks and deadlines.
Drive continuous improvement, refining processes and best practices to enhance development efficiency.
Champion scalability and maintainability, ensuring long-term sustainability in architecture and code design.
Specific Attributes, Skills, Qualifications \& Experience:
4+ years of professional development experience in game or software engineering.
Proficiency in programming languages like C++, C#, Typescript, or Lua.
Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal) and version control systems (Git, Perforce).
Solid understanding of engineering principles, including data structures, algorithms, and memory management.
Ability to debug and optimize code, ensuring performance and stability.
Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
Excellent communication and collaboration, able to discuss technical concepts clearly.
Proactive and adaptable, with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
Self-motivated with strong time management skills, able to take ownership of technical areas.
Nice to have: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, experience with API design, AI, physics, or unit testing frameworks.
