The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build core APIs and services that power our product. You’ll focus on performance, scalability, and reliability, ensuring we can serve millions of requests with speed and accuracy.

What You’ll Do

Design and implement services thatinterface with distributed storage systems to maximize throughput and reliability.

Architect and implement backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.

Optimize databases and data flows for high availability and performance.

Write clean, testable, and maintainable code.

Collaborate with frontend, product, and infra teams to deliver end-to-end features.

Contribute to code reviews and mentor junior engineers.

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of backend engineering experience.

Proficiency in Golang, TypeScript, Python.

Experience with distributed filesystems, HPC storage, or large-scale I/O optimization is a strong plus.

Experience with relational databases (Postgres) and caching systems (Redis).

Understanding of distributed systems, messaging/queues, and API design.

Experience with cloud-native environments (AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes).

Location Preference: This role is open to candidates based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We operate as a remote-friendly team, but some overlap with the Pacific Time Zone is required.

Compensation Range: CA$136K - CA$159K
