Senior DevOps Engineer

Azure Platform Tech Lead \& Cloud Architect \| Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes \| New Bank!

£600-700 p/d depending on experience

5-month initial contract (extensions very likely)

Hybrid: 1–2 days per week ideally in London, otherwise remote

The Role

Our client is launching a greenfield,

enterprise-scale Azure platform

for a new US banking venture and is hiring

two senior contractors

to join the core engineering team.

Tech Lead

– You’ll provide hands-on delivery leadership for a team of around ten engineers. This is not a managerial role, you’ll stay close to the code, ensuring cohesion in delivery and embedding best practices around Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, and platform engineering.

Cloud Architect

– You’ll define and connect the architectural components of the platform, ensuring the product integrates seamlessly across the wider business. This role is more about big-picture design and connectedness, guiding the platform’s technical direction.

or bring experience across both.)

Non-Negotiables experience:

Azure

expertise, specifically with

Microsoft CAF enterprise-scale landing zones

Kubernetes

knowledge and production-level use at scale

Terraform

experience for Infrastructure as Code

Platform / PaaS

engineering experience

DevOps-led

environments, with strong collaboration skills

Enterprise / Large Scale Azure projects

Tech Stack:

Azure Cloud (CAF enterprise-scale, Microsoft accelerators)

Kubernetes for orchestration

Terraform for provisioning \& automation

GitHub for CI/CD pipelines and workflow

Event-driven architecture (Kafka or similar)

Nice to Haves

Broader event-based systems experience

Kanban delivery and continuous refinement workflows

Banking or other regulated-industry background

Cloud-to-business integration (especially relevant for the Architect role)
