We’re exclusively supporting a leading Financial Services client in Bristol who is looking for an experienced
Data Engineer
to join their team on a hybrid basis. This role will see you play a key part in designing, building, and optimising ELT/ETL pipelines, data models, and data platforms that drive trusted, scalable, and insight-ready data.
🔎 What You’ll Do
Deliver ETL/ELT pipelines, data models, and data marts end-to-end
Document solutions and data lineage
Monitor performance, stability, and system health; identify and resolve bottlenecks
Support testing, release management, and governance processes (incl. CAB)
Drive best practice, contribute to risk/issue management, and uphold data standards
Work with the Data Engineering Manager to implement secure, scalable, modern data solutions
🛠 Essential Skills
Ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies
Experience delivering cloud-centric data solutions (preferably
Azure
)
Automation skills using
PowerShell
,
Azure DevOps
, etc.
Proficiency in
Python
for data manipulation and process automation
Hands-on experience with
SQL

dbt

PySpark
,
SSIS
Strong data modelling skills using platforms such as
Databricks
,
Power BI
,
Microsoft Fabric
Familiarity with ETL/ELT best practices, Kimball, and Medallion architectures
Passion for data storytelling and strong understanding of data architecture principles
