On behalf of our Asset Management client, Procom is searching for a Data Engineer for a 1-year role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.
Data Engineer - Job Description:
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing data systems and pipelines to support Global Asset Management's analytics and reporting capabilities. The project involves technology modernization and migration to modern cloud platforms, enhancing data-driven decision-making processes.
Data Engineer - Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
Develop and maintain data models and data warehouse infrastructure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver analytic solutions.
Drive technology modernization and migration projects to modern platforms.
Optimize performance and reliability of data systems in cloud and on-prem environments.
Data Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
5+ years of experience in Data Engineering and ETL development.
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and automation.
Solid understanding of Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, and Analytics concepts.
Familiarity with AWS tools such as SageMaker, AWS Unified Studio, and other data services.
Proven experience in tech modernization/migration projects.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Data Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience with SAS and WebFOCUS for advanced analytics and reporting.
Exposure to machine learning workflows and data science integration using AWS SageMaker.
Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for data engineering solutions.
Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS preferred).
Data Engineer – Assignment Length:
This is a 1-year contract position with the possibility of extension and conversion to full-time employment.
