Java Developer:
On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Java Developer for an 8 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.
Java Developer - Job Description:
You will work as a Software Engineer on the Online \& Mobile backend team, supporting new real-time payments projects. From day one, you will be an equal member of the team, contributing to the development of new microservices for various customer-facing projects.
Java Developer - Responsibilities:
Work with other software engineers in Agile Scrum teams to design and build APIs according to business requirements and architectural guidelines
Adhere to developer expectations defined by the team to ensure high-quality, re-usable, and maintainable software, including unit testing, code reviews, and documentation
Continuously enhance your own knowledge and expertise to keep current with leading-edge technologies, trends, and developments
Work on a broad range of tasks and multiple, concurrent projects
Help create a positive team environment that promotes collaboration, quality, innovation, and teamwork
Perform Unit and System Integration testing
Troubleshoot and determine root cause and resolution for application defects
Java Developer - Mandatory Skills:
5+ years of Java development experience
1+ years of experience with Azure cloud deployment and development
Understanding of data structures and design patterns
5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines
Strong communication both written and verbal
Strong team player
Strong technical and business acumen
Java Developer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
Banking or financial institution experience
Payment project experience
Agile/Scrum experience
Java Developer – Assignment Length:
This is a contract position until December 24, 2026, with the possibility of extension or conversion based on business needs and performance.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days onsite and 3 days working from home, with the possibility of moving to 4 days remote.
