Mainframe Developer:
On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Mainframe Developer for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.
Mainframe Developer - Job Description:
The project involves enhancing new savings products based on features such as tiered pricing and client rewards. This role requires developing and deploying large-scale projects from end to end within a mainframe environment.
Mainframe Developer - Responsibilities:
Analyze highly complex business requirements and generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications.
Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation, and analysis efforts.
Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement, and support solutions.
Assure quality, security, and compliance requirements are met for the supported area.
Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment, adapting quickly and adjusting work accordingly in a positive manner.
Mainframe Developer - Mandatory Skills:
10+ years of hands-on Mainframe application development experience in large enterprise or financial services environments.
10+ years of experience with core mainframe technologies: Cobol, CICS, IMS DB/DC, DB2, VSAM, JCL, MQ.
10+ years of working knowledge of MVS, TSO/ISPF, VM, and mainframe batch processing.
8+ years of experience with SQL, SORT utilities, IBM mainframe utilities, and scheduling tools such as Control-M or CA-Jobtrac.
8+ years of experience with change management, debugging and productivity tools such as CHANGEMAN, XPEDITER, INTERTEST, FILEAID, FILEAID/DB2, and related utilities.
5+ years prior experience in technical leadership or team lead roles.
Hands-on experience in designing, developing, and successfully deploying large-scale projects from end to end.
Mainframe Developer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience with system integration projects including mergers or platform consolidations.
Proven experience working with Tier-1 banks; supporting and enhancing mission-critical financial systems (e.g., credit cards, banking, rewards, collections, deposits, ATM/ABM systems).
Exposure to interface services and data exchange between mainframe and front-end applications.
Mainframe Developer – Assignment Length:
The contract duration is from 02/16/2026 to 07/31/2026, with a possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.

ASAP.
Mainframe Developer - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite, with potential to change to 4 days in the future.
