The role

We are hiring our Founding Finance Manager / Finance Lead, our first dedicated finance hire.

This is a builder role: you will design, own, and scale Qobra’s financial backbone. You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team, taking full ownership of finance operations while preparing the company for its next growth milestones (US expansion, future fundraising, scale).

Today, Finance is owned by Antoine, CEO, with external help from a fractional finance advisory firm.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to build before managing, and grow the Finance function over time. It’s a rare opportunity to structure finance from the ground up, rather than joining once everything is already in place.

Responsibilities

As Qobra’s first finance hire, you will take full ownership of the company’s financial foundations and progressively turn finance into a strategic asset for the business.

Financial reporting \& board communication

Lead monthly closings and reporting, and prepare clear, decision-oriented board packs for founders and investors.

Revenue, billing \& collections

Oversee client billing and collections, handle finance-related customer requests, and build reliable processes that scale with growth.

Cash, runway \& financial visibility

Own end-to-end cashflow management and projections, ensuring leadership always has a clear and forward-looking view of Qobra’s runway and investment strategy.

Budgeting, forecasting \& performance tracking

Build the annual budget, manage reforecasts, and actively monitor execution throughout the year to support strategic investment decisions.

Fundraising \& strategic operations

Support fundraising efforts by owning financial materials, due diligence processes, and investor interactions.

Contracts \& legal management

Review and monitor customer contracts, manage legal redlines, and ensure financial and contractual risks are well controlled.

External partners \& financial ecosystem

Act as the main point of contact for banks, insurers, lawyers, and accountants, ensuring smooth and efficient collaboration.

International structure (US subsidiary)

Oversee the financial monitoring and reporting of Qobra’s US subsidiary as part of the company’s international expansion.

Finance systems \& tooling

Own and continuously improve the finance stack (Pennylane, Spendesk, Hyperline), with scalability and reliability in mind.

External voice (bonus)

Contribute to Qobra’s visibility by acting as a credible finance voice externally (thought leadership, content, events) in a company selling to Finance teams.

Mission \& Outcomes

This role exists to ensure Qobra always has clarity, control, and anticipation over its financial trajectory.

After 3 months

Finance operations are fully owned and reliable, and CEO is relieved from day-to-day operations

Cash position, runway, and collections are clearly tracked and understood

Monthly reporting is delivered on time and trusted by leadership

After 6 months

Budgeting, reforecasting, and cash projections are structured and used for decision-making

Board packs are clear, insightful, and forward-looking

External partners (accountant, banks, lawyers) run smoothly without escalation

After 12 months

Finance is a strategic partner to the business

Finance processes scale with growth (systems, controls, predictability)

You are recognized internally as the owner of Qobra’s financial truth

Your Profile

2–5 years of experience in:

  • Audit / Transaction Services or

  • FP\&A / BizOps in a startup or scale-up or

  • Finance Ops in a SaaS environment

Strong understanding of:

  • Cashflow \& runway management

  • Budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting

  • Monthly reporting \& board-level communication

Fluent English (mandatory)

Builder mindset: you enjoy starting from a blank page
