Job Description

As a Senior System Engineer (DevOps/SRE), you will be a key contributor to the team responsible for the reliability, scalability, performance, and efficiency of Qualgo’s platform and infrastructure. You will champion and implement DevOps and SRE best practices, driving automation, continuous improvement, and a culture of operational excellence. You will work closely with the Head of Infrastructure, software engineering teams, and the security team to ensure our systems meet the highest standards of availability and performance. You will be a hands-on engineer, designing, implementing, and maintaining critical infrastructure components. You will also mentor and guide more junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure Automation:

Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for all systems and services.

2. Monitoring and Alerting:

Implement and manage comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address potential issues.

Contribute to the definition and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level objectives (SLOs).

Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations.

3. Incident Response:

Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production incidents.

Contribute to the investigation and resolution of infrastructure issues.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of incident response procedures.

4. Capacity Planning and Performance Optimization:

Contribute to capacity planning efforts.

Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the infrastructure.

Optimize system performance.

5. Collaboration:

Work closely with software engineering teams to ensure that applications are designed for reliability and scalability.

Collaborate with the security team to ensure the security of the infrastructure.

Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to more junior engineers on DevOps/SRE principles and practices.

Documentation: Maintain and create runbooks/documentations

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles.

Strong experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure, or a comparable platform).

Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).

Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.).

Experience with monitoring and alerting systems (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.).

Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Bash, etc.).

Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet) is a plus.

Experience with networking concepts and technologies.

Experience with database administration is a plus.

Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Experience working in Vietnam or Southeast Asia is a plus.

Skills:

Strong technical skills in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, and SRE.

Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Good communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Passion for building reliable, scalable, and performant systems.

Fluency in English and Vietnamese.
