Role Description
Raftec is hiring a Python Engineer — Data \& Backend Systems Specialist for a fully remote position with flexible working hours. In this role, you’ll be solving challenging backend and performance-critical engineering problems to power modern AI \& data pipelines.
This is a pure coding role — perfect for those who love algorithms, competitive coding, and building high-quality systems at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and optimize high-performance backend systems in Python
Implement modular, clean, and production-ready architectures
Write algorithmically efficient, scalable, and testable code
Partner with AI research, infrastructure, and data engineering teams
Contribute to performance tuning, system design, and distributed workflows
Keep up with modern Python frameworks, tools, and best practices
Qualfications
4+ years of hands-on Python development in production environments
Bachelor’s/Master’s in CS, Engineering, or related technical field
Expert-level Python skills with strong usage of core libraries (FastAPI, AsyncIO, NumPy, Pandas, etc.)
Proven competitive programming or data-challenge performance — LeetCode, Codeforces, HackerRank, Kaggle, etc.
Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures \& performance optimization
Practical experience in system design and clean architecture
Familiarity with ML/DS workflows in real engineering environments
Preferred
Experience with distributed systems, large-scale APIs, or data processing frameworks
Cloud knowledge (AWS / GCP / Azure) and DevOps familiarity (CI/CD)
Open-source contributions or developer tooling background
Comfortable working in fast-paced, research-driven teams
