Key Responsibilities
Data Migration Leadership
Lead end-to-end data migration programs including assessment, design, development, testing, and cutover.
Define migration strategies (big bang, phased, parallel run) aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
Own migration plans, timelines, risks, and dependencies.
Act as the primary point of contact for migration-related decisions.
Technical Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable data migration and reconciliation frameworks using Python.
Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance-tuned transformations.
Handle large data volumes with a focus on data integrity, accuracy, and performance.
Define and enforce data validation, reconciliation, and audit controls.
Work with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.) and cloud or on-prem platforms.
Team \& Stakeholder Management
Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts.
Perform code reviews and enforce best practices.
Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA, and infrastructure teams.
Communicate migration status, risks, and metrics to senior stakeholders.
Required Skills \& QualificationsTechnical Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Python (data processing, automation, ETL frameworks).
Advanced SQL expertise (complex joins, window functions, performance tuning).
Experience with large-scale data migration programs.
Strong understanding of data modeling and relational databases.
Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and error handling.
Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and batch processing frameworks.
Domain Experience
Mandatory banking or financial services domain experience.
Strong understanding of financial data structures and transaction integrity.
Experience working in regulated environments.
Leadership \& Soft Skills
Proven experience leading technical teams.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple workstreams.
Preferred / Nice to Have
Exposure to data governance and data quality frameworks.
Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines for data workloads.
Prior experience in core banking modernization or platform migration programs.
