WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
RBC Finance IT team supports the RBC Enterprise Finance Business across the globe, as well as Finance Change Management Group by delivering programs related to various regulatory, reporting, strategic and other operational business goals and requirements.
As a Business Analyst for the Finance Modernization group, you will lead and oversee activities on analysis, requirements and strategy in support of the RBC US Strategy.
The role is responsible for execution of all aspects of requirements delivery, elicitation, analysis, documentation, management in support of projects for the Finance function within RBC. The role will focus on support of City National Bank programs that necessitate functionality, data, and reporting changes to support the Finance group.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Lead end-to-end documentation of finance processes, including workflows, controls, and system interactions.
Partner with multiple IT teams to align technology solutions with business needs.
Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to create efficiencies within the US IT infrastructure.
Identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for automation or standardization.
Lead requirement, design and solution workshops ensuring robust, clear and actionable documentation is produced.
Collaborate with the Finance function to ensure thorough and accurate data mappings, posting rules and accounting rules are documented.
Work with project managers, developers, quality engineers and other business analysts, to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
Proven ability to drive large-scale projects in complex financial environments, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of technical and business stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for process mapping, gap analysis, and workflow optimization.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to bridge Finance and IT teams.
Nice-to-have:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements impacting finance operations.
Track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams (Finance, IT, Compliance) to deliver process improvements or system implementations.
Strong experience and proficiency in creation of Requirement artifacts such as Use Case, Use Case Diagrams, Business Rules, Data Catalog, User Interface Specifications and Data Mapping.
