Job Description
What’s the Opportunity?
RBC Insurance is in the middle of a large-scale digital transformation. The foundations are in place — and now we’re ready to raise the bar on how we use data and strategy to guide decisions across the enterprise. We’re hiring a Senior Product Strategist to embed best-in-class product frameworks, measurement models, and data-driven practices across RBC Insurance. This is not a backlog ownership role. Instead, you’ll partner with business, product, technology, and design leaders to shape how we measure, prioritize, and make decisions that impact clients, advisors, MGAs, and partners across Canada. You’ll establish measurement models and embed practices that help RBC Insurance make smarter, faster, and more informed product and customer experience decisions — including using data to guide what to build next and to shape innovative digital experiences for all audiences.
This role offers significant autonomy, visibility, and the chance to leave a mark on how product strategy is practiced across one of Canada’s largest insurers.
What will you do?
Partner with business, product, and technology teams to embed strategic product frameworks (North Star, OKRs, driver trees, prioritization models) into everyday decision making
Collaborate closely with design strategists, researchers, and product teams to synthesize insights and use data to inform what to build next and how to create innovative, customer-centric experiences across clients, advisors, MGAs, and partners
Design and implement measurement frameworks that connect team-level metrics to enterprise outcomes and help teams understand the impact of their work
Work with product teams and data \& analytics to identify and prioritize pipelines that generate the insights needed to shape strategy and future experiences
Facilitate cross-functional workshops and alignment sessions that bring research, design, product, and data perspectives together to drive clarity on priorities and outcomes
Act as a strategic enabler, helping teams translate data and insights into clear choices that balance customer needs, business goals, and regulatory requirements
Operate with independence and accountability, ensuring the organization moves toward more strategic and data-driven ways of working
What will you need to succeed?
Must haves
5–8 years of experience in product strategy, product management, and digital transformation
Expertise with strategic product frameworks (North Star, OKRs, JTBD, prioritization models)
Strong background in measurement and product analytics enablement: designing metrics frameworks, identifying data gaps, shaping data pipeline priorities
Proven ability to work across business, product, technology, and design functions in complex enterprises
Systems thinking - able to connect data, frameworks, and organizational practices into a cohesive whole
Excellent facilitation, communication, and storytelling skills, with the presence to align senior stakeholders
Self-starter mindset with accountability and autonomy
Nice to haves
Consulting experience
Familiarity with insurance or financial services ecosystems
Hands-on data literacy (comfort with dashboards, querying tools, or basic SQL)
Exposure to AI/ML applications in analytics or personalization
Experience shaping change management and product culture in large organizations
What’s in it for you?
A Total Rewards program that includes flexible benefits, work/life balance and career development programs and investment and retirement savings plans
Competitive pay and high-earning potential
All the tools, training, and team support you need to grow your business and career
Flexible work/life balance options
Sophisticated RBCI software tools to boost your productivity and grow your business
