About The Role We are seeking an elite Azure Network Engineer (Freelance) to join our client’s transformation journey in Charleroi, Belgium. This is a freelance assignment of approximately 20 days spread over 3 months, starting January 2026. You’ll play a pivotal role in designing and implementing robust Azure DNS and application gateway solutions, directly impacting the resilience, scalability, and security of critical business services.

As an Azure Network Engineer, you will architect and implement private DNS resolvers and application gateways, ensuring seamless service delivery, operational continuity, and future-proof scalability. Your expertise will be instrumental in enabling business continuity and secure, high-performance access to applications across the organization.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing and implementing Azure-based network infrastructure, focusing on private DNS resolvers and application gateways

Migrating DNS services from Microsoft Entra Domain Services to a resilient, scalable Azure solution

Ensuring redundancy, operational continuity, and security across all DNS and network components

Configuring DNS forwarding and delegations for seamless integration with external systems

Designing and deploying an intermediate application gateway layer to decouple applications from underlying infrastructure

Participating in architecture and design sessions with cross-functional teams

Documenting solutions, creating migration roadbooks, and scripting deployments

Conducting security analysis, testing, and validation of implemented solutions

Managing the migration process, including cleanup and project closure

Collaborating both remotely and on-site in Charleroi (Gosselies), with occasional travel to other sites as needed

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 3 years’ experience designing and implementing network infrastructures in Azure, with a focus on application gateway-based architectures

At least 3 years’ experience architecting and deploying DNS solutions in Azure

Proven expertise configuring Microsoft DNS solutions, Infoblox, Bind DNS, or similar

Azure Network Associate certification is a strong plus

Proactive, results-driven mindset with a commitment to quality and operational excellence

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Ownership mentality — you take initiative and drive outcomes

Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (on-site presence required; site not easily accessible by public transport)

Technical Skills

Azure network architecture and implementation

Azure private DNS zones and private DNS resolvers

Azure Application Gateway deployment and management

Microsoft DNS, Infoblox, Bind DNS configuration

Deployment scripting and automation

Security analysis and performance optimization

Solution documentation and migration planning

Language Proficiency

Professional proficiency in French and/or English (C1 level or higher)

Other Requirements

This is a freelance position with a project duration of approximately 3 months (20 days total)

Part-time engagement (approx. 0.5 days per week), with flexibility for remote work in consultation with the manager

Knowledge transfer is not required
