About The Role We’re seeking a Senior Cloud, Infrastructure \& Security (DevSecOps) Engineer for a high-impact freelance assignment with our client in Antwerp. You’ll be at the heart of digital transformation in the maritime sector, designing and securing cloud environments that power the next generation of port logistics. As a Cloud Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in accelerating cargo flows, enhancing security, and ensuring compliance in a mission-critical environment. Your expertise will directly impact the safety, speed, and reliability of one of Europe’s most vital logistics hubs.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing, implementing, and managing Azure cloud infrastructures using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, Terraform AVM modules)

Establishing and maintaining security and governance frameworks (ISO27001, CAF/WAF, Microsoft Defender, PIM, Conditional Access, Azure Policy)

Supporting product teams in cloud transformation, application modernization, and migration projects

Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, YAML) and containerized environments (AKS, Docker, Kubernetes)

Applying best practices in security, compliance, and FinOps to optimize cloud operations

Integrating and managing EDI and AS2 protocols within cloud and enterprise architectures

Sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and staying ahead of emerging technologies and best practices

Collaborating and communicating with stakeholders and customers to ensure project continuity and alignment

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 5 years’ experience in Cloud, Infrastructure, and Security Engineering

Deep expertise in Azure, Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, and Kubernetes

Proven experience with governance frameworks such as CAF/WAF and ISO27001

Strong communication skills and a customer-centric mindset

Experience working with government institutions in the maritime logistics sector (mandatory)

Relevant certifications (CKA, Terraform Associate, Azure Solution Architect, DevOps Engineer Expert, FinOps Practitioner) are a plus

Demonstrated ability to build scalable and modular cloud environments

Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)

Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python)

Ownership mentality, proactive problem-solving, and a drive for impact

Other Requirements

Freelance position – 12 months, full-time, hybrid in Antwerp

Minimum 2–3 days per week onsite; remote flexibility available

Willingness to undergo a comprehensive security screening (up to 30 days)

Assignment may be extended upon positive evaluation

All candidates must be available throughout the security clearance process
