We’re seeking a Senior DevOps Linux Engineer for a high-impact, freelance assignment with our client in Brussels. This is a unique opportunity to drive mission-critical infrastructure for a leading organization, where your expertise will directly shape secure, scalable systems at the heart of national operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing, deploying, and managing robust Linux-based infrastructure in a highly secure environment

Automating system provisioning, configuration, and orchestration using Red Hat Ansible and Terraform/OpenTofu

Implementing and maintaining containerized environments with Red Hat OpenShift

Managing storage solutions with Red Hat Ceph Storage

Overseeing version control and CI/CD pipelines using Git and GitLab

Administering PostgreSQL databases for high availability and performance

Ensuring compliance with strict security protocols and public sector requirements

Collaborating in Agile teams to deliver solutions that are both innovative and reliable

Operating fully onsite in Brussels, working closely with multidisciplinary teams

What We’re Looking For

Proven ownership mindset and a passion for building secure, scalable systems

At least 10 years of confirmed experience in DevOps, Linux engineering, or related fields

Expertise in Agile methodologies and collaborative delivery

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive outcomes in high-stakes environments

Commitment to excellence, reliability, and continuous improvement

Linux (Red Hat Enterprise)

Red Hat Ansible

Red Hat OpenShift

Red Hat Ceph Storage

Red Hat Satellite

Terraform / OpenTofu

PostgreSQL

Git, GitLab

Agile frameworks

Language Proficiency

Fluent in Dutch or French, with strong working knowledge of the other national language

Active knowledge of English

Other Requirements

Belgian nationality is mandatory

In possession of, or willing to obtain, a “top secret” security clearance

All work must be performed onsite in Brussels (no remote work possible)

Engagement subject to public procurement law and security vetting
