Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in software development using modern programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
Experience building web applications, APIs, and backend systems.
Experience with frontend frameworks such as React or Next.js.
Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in full-stack product development.
Experience with FastAPI, Node.js, or modern backend frameworks.
Experience with cloud infrastructure, Docker, CI/CD, and production deployments.
Experience building scalable systems, internal tools, platform products, or marketplace technologies.
Ability to work independently in a fast-moving startup environment.
Interest in applied AI, workflow automation, and product innovation.
About The Job At RentalHunt, we are building technology that simplifies the rental process for tenants and landlords. Our platform helps users find verified rental opportunities, manage applications, communicate more effectively, and reduce friction across the leasing journey.
This role is focused on product innovation and new technology development within RentalHunt. Over the past 18 months, we have filed multiple patents across core areas of our platform and product direction. The Software Developer joining this role will work as part of the team responsible for translating these patent-backed concepts into production-ready features, embedding them across the product, and helping create entirely new products and experiences based on that intellectual property.
Rather than being centered primarily on maintenance of the existing marketplace, this role is designed for a developer who wants to build new systems, develop novel user experiences, and contribute to the implementation of proprietary ideas that can shape the future of RentalHunt. You will work across product surfaces, backend services, frontend applications, and internal platform capabilities to help bring these innovations to market.
Responsibilities
Build and launch new product features, systems, and applications based on RentalHunt’s patented and proprietary technology initiatives.
Translate product ideas, patent concepts, and strategic innovation plans into scalable technical solutions.
Develop reliable, secure, and maintainable APIs and backend services.
Build high-quality frontend experiences and internal product tools.
Collaborate with leadership, product, and design to prototype and productionize new product lines and capabilities.
Contribute to architecture decisions for emerging systems and greenfield initiatives.
Write high-quality, tested, and reusable code.
Troubleshoot technical issues across new product development workflows and implement durable solutions.
Help shape the future technical direction of RentalHunt’s innovation roadmap.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $86,828.09-$142,291.20 per year
