Role: Sr GCP Cloud Engineer

Skills Required:
We're looking for a passionate engineer with a strong foundation in cloud infrastructure, automation, and modern software development practices.
● Proven, hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
● Deep expertise in building DevOps foundations and automated CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Google Cloud Build, or similar.
● Strong practical experience with microservices architectures, including containerisation (Docker) and serverless compute platforms (Cloud Run, GKE).
● Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform.
● Excellent scripting and automation skills (e.g. Python, Bash, etc).
● Ability to debug complex systems, optimise code, and influence engineering teams to adopt DevOps best practices.
● Experience with a subset of technologies in our stack is highly desirable:
○ Cloud: Google Cloud Platform.
○ Code: Knowledge in Go, NodeJS, Python is a huge bonus.
○ Databases: Cloud SQL, Firestore, NoSQL (MongoDB).
○ Observability: Google Cloud's operations suite (Cloud Monitoring and Logging), Dynatrace, Prometheus, PagerDuty.
Your key responsibilities will include:
● Designing, building, and maintaining scalable and secure cloud infrastructure patterns on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Infrastructure as Code.
● Guiding the DevOps foundations, including CI/CD pipelines, to support our microservices architecture.
● Collaborating with development teams to establish best practices for building, deploying, and operating cloud-native applications on serverless platforms like Cloud Run.
● Automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and repetitive operational tasks to enhance efficiency and reliability.
● Implementing and managing observability and monitoring tools to provide deep visibility into system health and performance.
● Championing a culture of automation and continuous improvement across all engineering teams.
