About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Data Engineer to join our data team. In this role, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, data models, and analytics infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their data engineering career who is eager to learn modern data technologies and contribute to business-wide data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in building, maintaining, and optimising data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.

Support the development of scalable data solutions used for analytics, reporting, and business insights.

Work with senior engineers to integrate data from various internal and external sources.

Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across systems.

Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements.

Monitor data workflows and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

Maintain documentation for data processes, pipelines, and architecture.

Required Skills \& Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.

Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases.

Basic experience with Python or another programming language used in data engineering.

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Understanding of data warehousing concepts (e.g., star schema, dimensional modelling).

Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

Experience with big data tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).

Exposure to data pipeline tools (Airflow, dbt, Prefect, or similar).

Knowledge of containerisation (Docker) or version control (Git).

Experience with APIs, data streaming (Kafka), or real-time data processing.

Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
