We are looking for an experienced Security Engineer to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in cloud\-native environments, identity and access management, and automation to strengthen and enhance security operations. This is a long\-term contract position within the Financial Services industry, offering an opportunity to collaborate across teams and build scalable security solutions.
Responsibilities:
Develop and manage security solutions in cloud\-native environments, utilizing containerized workloads, serverless architecture, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
Write scripts and code to create security tools and automate repetitive tasks for improved efficiency.
Deploy and review security baseline controls using Terraform, providing recommendations to enhance security measures.
Create and implement custom security tools to detect, report, and mitigate infrastructure vulnerabilities as part of risk management.
Integrate log feeds from various sources into systems like Splunk to enable monitoring and detection of critical security events.
Participate in on\-call rotations to address security tickets and provide system support.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design and implement controls that address security gaps.
Identify, analyze, and remediate security vulnerabilities and incidents to protect infrastructure.
Support and guide security architecture discussions with stakeholders across the organization.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with at least 8 years of experience in enterprise identity and security engineering.
Proficient in identity and access management technologies such as OAuth/OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and risk\-based authentication mechanisms.
Hands\-on experience with tools like Okta, Ping Identity, SailPoint, and Active Directory.
Strong knowledge of cloud security technologies, including compute, serverless technologies, firewalls, and network access controls.
Skilled in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Go, and Terraform.
Experience with CI/CD platforms like Jenkins, GitHub Enterprise, and CircleCI for automating security processes.
Expertise in designing scalable security solutions for public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders and provide security guidance.
