We are seeking an experienced and highly sk illed Sen ior Simulation Engi neer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will lead the developm ent o f state-of- the -a rt digital twins and robotic simulations that drive the clean energy transition. As a key team member, you will design, develo p, an d o pti mi ze product s and tools for interna l customers, supporting data analysis and autonomous robotics deployment in the offshore wind industry. You will also be helping grow the Simulation Team to build our capabilities to support the business .
You will work closely with the product team, cross-functional engineering teams, and various stakeholders throughout the entire product lifecycle. Your responsibilities will encompass high-level software development, architectural design, and adherence to rigorous quality standards using Modern C++ and Unreal Engine. Y ou will collaborate with cross-functional teams in Robotics, Software Engineering, and Machine Learning to translate novel ideas into tangible products. As a senior engineer, you will also mentor junior engineers, provide technical leadership, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across Robotics, Software Engineering, and Machine Learning to translate novel ideas into tangible products.

What you can expect

Implement sophisticated features and functionalities that accurately represent real-world subsea environments and robotic operations.
Write and maintain high-quality, efficient, and scalable code using Modern C++ and CI/CD practices wit hin the Unreal Engine framework.
Conduct technical reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensur e high standards .
Work closely with the product team to define project requirements, objectives , a nd deliverables.
Drive the development roadmap from design through to implementation, testing, and deployment.

Provide technical leadership and c oordinate with cross-functional engineering teams ( robotics and ML ) to integrate and align various components and systems.

Essential skills that you bring:
Proficiency in Unreal Engine, including B lueprints .
Fam iliarity wi th various comp onents of Unreal Engine including materials, Niagara, Nanite , Procedural Content Generation and post- pro c essing .
Proficiency in C++ (17 onwards) and Python.
Understanding of D ocker and containerisation .
Experience optimizing simulation performance for scalability and efficiency.
Strong understanding of software design patterns, architectural principles, and scalable coding practices .
Proven ability to lead teams, mentor junior engineers, and maintain high standards of code quality .
Excellent communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams .
Desirable skills that you have:
A background in robotics and autonomous systems .
Experience in simulating sensors , actuators, and physics.
Experience with data analysis and visualization tools .
Experience creating internal Unreal Editor tool ing .
Prior e xperience with robot ics sim u lators such as NVidia Isaac or Gaze b o.
Performance analyses and benchmarking .
Familiarit y with 3D modelling software (Blender, Maya, 3DMax) .
Hardware in the Loop ( HIL) testing .
Working with 3D and Video data, including mesh and point clouds.
Deploying large scale systems in the cloud .
