About the Role:
Melbourne has become one of Australia’s fastest-growing technology hubs, and at Rotary Kololo Kampala Foundation, we apply the same level of care and precision to our digital platforms that world-class engineering teams apply to their products. We build modern, scalable systems that support global initiatives and community programs, and reliability is at the heart of everything we release.
We are looking for a Lead QA Automation Engineer (m/f/d) who can take ownership of our automated testing strategy and help ensure every product we launch meets the highest standards of quality and performance.
In this role, you won’t simply execute test cases—you will design and evolve our automation frameworks, integrate testing into our CI/CD pipelines, and champion quality across the entire development lifecycle. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, DevOps specialists, and product teams to ensure new features are delivered quickly without compromising reliability.
You will also mentor other QA professionals and act as the bridge between development and quality assurance, helping teams build a culture where testing, automation, and continuous improvement are built into every release.

The Environment:
Our Melbourne office is located in the heart of the CBD, surrounded by innovative tech companies and collaborative workspaces. We believe productive teams thrive in supportive environments where ideas are welcomed and expertise is respected.
Engineering Culture:
Quality is not an afterthought here. Our engineering teams prioritize automated testing, clean architecture, and continuous delivery practices from the very beginning of every project.
Modern Tooling:
We use modern testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines, working with tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, and API automation integrated into cloud-based development environments.
Growth:
We support ongoing learning through professional development programs, training resources, and opportunities to expand your expertise in automation, DevOps, and software quality engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Automation Framework Development:
Design, implement, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks for web applications and APIs.
Continuous Integration:
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable and consistent releases.
Quality Strategy:
Define and implement testing strategies that improve overall software reliability and reduce manual testing overhead.
Collaboration:
Work closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to ensure test coverage across new features and system updates.
Defect Analysis:
Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues quickly.
Mentorship:
Support and mentor QA engineers by sharing automation best practices and reviewing testing approaches.
What We Are Looking For
