What you do as a Mechanical Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres)

As Mechanical Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres) you must prove yourself to some of the most demanding customers in the world and work pro-actively with our colleagues across the globe. Beyond the standard features of a building, our MCF projects require specific and advanced knowledge and skills. What our clients have in common, is the need for a proactive Mechanical Engineer. With your technical and 3D/ BIM modelling skills, you know how to efficiently engineer and model design. Your main responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Engineering the mechanical design in project teams. Of course, under the guidance of the Lead Engineer;

Develop line diagrams of the mechanical installation and coordinate with other disciplines for the initial space reservations;

Modelling the mechanical installation in 3D Revit/ BIM based on the diagrams and coordinated space reservations;

Implement your knowledge based on functionality, mountability, accessibility and maintainability into the model to ensure that the contractor can build it according to our model without revising it.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team where your work will be cross borders, native and home based. In addition to participating in projects, you naturally also contribute to the optimization of our internal business processes and to safeguarding and sharing knowledge within your field. In this way, we continue to develop ourselves continuously!

Where you will work

At Haskoning, you will join an independent, employee-owned international consultancy that combines engineering, design, and consultancy services with software and technology. Our mission, "Enhancing Society Together," drives us to create a positive impact on the world.

We offer purpose-driven and challenging work in diverse international projects, leveraging our 140+ years of expertise. With over 6,800 employees in more than 25 countries, we work together to turn challenges into opportunities and make a real impact on society. We collaborate with leading clients in markets such as infrastructure, climate resilience, renewable energy, decarbonisation of industry, and sustainable mobility.

As our new Mechanical Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres) you will become part of our Global Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) team.

Our global MCF team provides multidisciplinary consultancy services to datacentre clients, including colocation datacentres, internet service providers, and telecom companies. The team is diverse, with expertise in areas like electrical and mechanical engineering, construction, architecture, fire safety, control engineering, and security technology. Together, this knowledge is used to develop integrated designs for Data Centres. You will be part of a dedicated, passionate team that is globally recognized as one of the best in Data Centre design and engineering. Curious about our work? Here you will find examples of some our projects.

The role will be based in our Nijmegen office. As our team is located throughout the EU, travel between offices may be required to meet the project demands. The role may also require occasional travel to client offices/ project sites both in the EU and overseas.
