Salesforce is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff - DevOps Engineer to lead technical initiatives within our DevSecOps organization. As a senior technical leader, you'll architect and drive implementation of complex, enterprise-scale platform solutions while mentoring teams and influencing technical strategy. You'll be responsible for defining the technical vision for critical infrastructure components and leading cross-functional initiatives that directly impact our ability to deliver secure, reliable software at global scale.
You'll operate as both a hands-on technical expert and strategic leader, driving innovation in cloud-native technologies, automation platforms, and developer experience. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of DevOps at one of the world's leading technology companies while building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
Architect and lead the design of large-scale, multi-region infrastructure platforms and automation systems
Define technical strategy and roadmaps for DevOps platform evolution and modernization
Lead complex migration projects involving thousands of applications and critical business systems
Drive platform reliability initiatives including SLA definition, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
Establish engineering excellence standards, best practices, and governance frameworks across the organization
Mentor and develop senior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and career development support
Collaborate with executive leadership on platform strategy, resource planning, and organizational priorities
Lead incident response for critical platform issues and drive comprehensive post-incident improvement programs
Represent Salesforce in technical communities, conferences, and industry standards organizations
Drive innovation initiatives including proof-of-concepts, technology evaluations, and platform research
Partner with Product and Security teams to integrate advanced capabilities and ensure compliance with enterprise requirements
Lead vendor relationships and technology partnerships for strategic platform components
Required Skills :
5+ years of senior-level experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering at enterprise scale
Proven track record of architecting and implementing large-scale, distributed systems serving thousands of users
Expert-level programming skills in at least one language such as Python, NodeJS, or Java
Expert-level mastery of cloud platforms ( AWS ) including advanced services and enterprise features
Deep expertise in containerization platforms ( Kubernetes , service mesh, advanced orchestration patterns)
Comprehensive experience with Infrastructure as Code at scale ( Terraform Enterprise, custom tooling )
Expert knowledge of CI/CD platform architecture ( Jenkins Enterprise, Github Action, custom pipeline orchestration )
Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and platform scalability patterns
Advanced networking and security expertise including zero-trust architectures and compliance frameworks
Proven leadership experience including technical mentoring, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration
Strong business acumen with ability to translate technical capabilities into business value
Excellent communication skills for executive-level presentations and technical documentation
Desired Skills:
Advanced security automation threat modeling, and compliance automation
Advanced database and data platform expertise (data lakes, streaming platforms, analytics)
Cost optimization leadership at enterprise scale
Regulatory compliance expertise (SOX, FedRAMP, GDPR, industry-specific requirements)
Scale-up experience with rapid growth platform challenges
Technical Leadership \& Impact:
Drive architectural decisions for enterprise-wide platform initiatives with multi-million dollar impact
Lead technical due diligence for acquisitions, partnerships, and major technology investments
Establish center of excellence practices and cultivate technical communities within the organization
Influence industry standards and best practices through external thought leadership and collaboration
Drive organizational transformation initiatives including DevOps maturity advancement and cultural change
Own platform P\&L responsibility including resource optimization and strategic investment planning
Own the on-call rotation and incident response strategies
Strategic Responsibilities:
Define long-term technical vision (1-3 year roadmap) for DevOps platform evolution
Lead organizational scaling initiatives to support continued business growth
Drive innovation investment decisions and emerging technology adoption strategies
