What you`ll do
Join platform engineering at SAP LeanIX as Senior Backend Engineer. Our mission: deliver highly reliable, performant and modern platform services as foundation for all product teams.
The role:
Take ownership for our platform services around user \& tenant management, authentication and authorization
Architect and evolve the services to meet global scale and strict performance targets (high throughput, low latency, fault tolerance).
Build robust, scalable RESTful and event-driven APIs.
Design and implement secure, standards-compliant identity provisioning, auth flows and access controls that support multi-tenant needs.
Make observability a first-class feature: implement metrics, distributed tracing, SLOs/SLIs and actionable alerts so issues are detected and resolved quickly.

What you bring
5+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
Passion for platform services (tenant \& user management, authentication, authorization...).
Proficiency with Java/Kotlin building and operating scalable backend services.
Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and GraphQL at scale.
Solid experience with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL).
Production-focused mindset: observability, CI/CD, testing, reliability and performance optimization.
Clear, open communicator who collaborates well across product and engineering.

You’ll join Atlas — a cross-functional team of Front- and Back-End Engineers, an Engineering Manager, a Product Manager and a UX Designer. Atlas owns foundational platform domains used across the LeanIX product (tenant \& user lifecycle/management, authentication and authorization). Your work will shape the baseline for all product teams: designing secure, reliable, and scalable services that other teams depend on.
