Turn complex satellite data into insights that change how we see the world.
At SATLANTIS, we design advanced optical and space technologies to help solve global challenges from above. From our headquarters in Leioa (Bizkaia, Spain), we lead innovation in high-resolution imaging systems and data processing for Earth observation and space missions.
Weâre now offering an opportunity to join our Image Processing team as an Image Processing Developer, where youâll take part in developing advanced algorithms and solutions that bring meaning and precision to satellite imagery.
Whatâs in it for youImpactful innovation: Contribute to technologies that transform satellite images into environmental, scientific, and strategic insights with real-world applications.
Challenging projects: Work on advanced image processing algorithms and models used in actual space missions and international programs.
Growth and autonomy: Collaborate with experts in optics, software, and data analysis, taking ownership of projects that shape the future of space imaging.
Flexible working hours: We trust you to manage your time effectively to deliver your best work.
Private health insurance: Your wellbeing matters, supported by top-tier healthcare coverage.
Dynamic, collaborative environment: Be part of a multidisciplinary team where innovation, precision, and creativity drive every project.
Campus benefits: Enjoy access to facilities within the UPV/EHU campus in Leioa.
Your missionAs an Image Processing Developer, you will design, implement, and optimize algorithms that transform raw satellite data into accurate and actionable information. Your work will directly contribute to the development of geospatial analysis products and the validation of imaging systems used in SATLANTISâ optical payloads and missions.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Design, develop, and optimize satellite image processing algorithms for analysis and simulation.
Implement radiometric, geometric, and multiband alignment correction techniques to enhance image quality and consistency.
Develop models for image simulation, quality assessment, and system validation using both simulated and real datasets.
Validate and verify algorithms with real mission data, ensuring accuracy and robustness for operational use.
Collaborate closely with software, optics, and payload teams to integrate image processing solutions across missions and platforms.
What will set you up for successA degree in Physics, Mathematics, Aeronautical, or related Engineering fields.
Strong Python programming skills, with proven experience developing scientific or analytical software.
Solid knowledge of OpenCV, NumPy, SciPy, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and GDAL, or equivalent libraries for image processing and data management.
A problem-solving mindset and the ability to turn complex data challenges into effective technical solutions.
Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, allowing you to collaborate fluently in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
A collaborative and creative spirit, with the curiosity to explore new approaches and the rigor to deliver results.
Youâll stand out even more if you bring:Experience with satellite image datasets and geospatial data formats or standards.
Knowledge of remote sensing principles, image calibration, or sensor modeling.
A proactive attitude toward optimizing algorithms for performance and scalability.
