Job Summary
Under the direction of the UX Engineer, the Web Developer supports the development, maintenance, and continual improvement of the College’s primary website and related digital environments. This role provides day-to-day web support for campus departments and contributes to larger development projects within the WordPress-based ecosystem and other front-end frameworks as needed. The Web Developer must be able to demonstrate strong coding fundamentals, awareness of industry best practices, and a commitment to web accessibility and performance standards.
Working within the Marketing Department, the Web Developer will be required to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects while remaining adaptable to shifting priorities. Success in this role requires attention to detail, solid documentation habits, clear communication, a passion for problem-solving, and a systems-thinking approach to understanding how individual code decisions influence the broader web ecosystem.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor degree in computer science, web development, UX, or a related field.
Minimum two (2) years of professional experience
Proficiency in HTML/CSS and SFTP file management.
Experience working with custom-built WordPress themes.
Understanding of how to work within local, staging and production environments.
Experience working with GitHub for managing codebases.
Understanding of how to create and maintain web documentation where appropriate.
Practical understanding of responsive design principles, web accessibility, performance optimization, and development testing.
Ability to perform minor graphics editing (cropping, resizing) for web use.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the Genesis Framework and Genesis Custom Blocks for WordPress.
Experience with WP Engine hosting.
Working knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, and SASS.
Exposure to technologies such as React, Tailwind CSS, MySQL, CLI, Git, APIs.
Familiarity with Google Analytics and other analytics platforms.
Knowledge of UX research and design principles.

Office Environment: This role may involve being in a stationary position in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse (or applicable equipment) and telephone. Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
