Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team in a hybrid capacity. This multifaceted role combines responsibilities across warranty claims coordination and resolution, as well as product compliance. This includes hands-on testing of electrical components, reviewing wiring and schematics, identifying product issues, supporting production teams, and ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards. The successful candidate will also play a key role in ensuring high standards of product performance, regulatory compliance, and safe work practices across our lighting products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Warranty Claims Coordination

Collaborate with the Aftersales team in terms of analysing warranty claims, approving warranty replacements, managing the return of faulty products for QA assessment and managing Fault Analysis.

Perform product returns inspection as required.

Review and approve quotes from electrical contractors for rectification works, including site removal and replacement of faulty products.

Coordinate the repair, rework, and refurbishment requirements for warranty replacements as required.

Maintain detailed records on quality systems and analyse field failure data for quality reporting, including failure type grouping and field failure rate monitoring.

Coordinate and participate with the internal cross-functional team to identify root cause and implement corrective actions.

Coordinate with suppliers to arrange product credits and support root cause investigations and corresponding corrective actions.

Manage the disposition of warranty returns.

2. Product Compliance

Provide technical guidance to ensure product compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Support compliance review of incoming goods and new products introduced to the market.

Where required, review and approve test reports.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a QA, testing, or manufacturing role related to electrical or electronic products.

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.

Trade qualification (e.g., Electrical Fitter, Electrician, or Electrical Technician) may be considered with relevant experience.

Certification in Testing \& Tagging, Electrical Safety, or High Voltage Testing is advantageous.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience in product compliance, quality assurance, or after-sales/warranty processes within a technical or manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand standards for lighting or electrical products (e.g., AS/NZS standards).

Understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management System or similar frameworks.

Strong analytical and documentation skills with the ability to manage data for quality, and compliance reporting.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams, suppliers, and service providers.

Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
