Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Product Development Manager at Schroders, you will assist the Head of Product Development, Hong Kong in providing support to oversee products for Hong Kong and cross-border China. These product activities spanning from development of new products, share class ideas, ongoing maintenance \& governance and termination of products, to coordination and maintenance of internal and external product materials, which include working closely with Client Group, Investment and other relevant teams, within Hong Kong and across different locations in Asia Pacific Region.

Key Responsibilities

Project management and support implementation of onshore product lifecycle activities, product-related initiatives and other relevant projects from time to time, including but not limited to new fund launches, terminations and changes triggered by changes in regulations.

Coordinate product updates and changes of offshore funds that will impact the region, including liaison with local Product Development teams for feedback where necessary on any local requirements to Product Development Team in London and relevant teams in Luxembourg for delivery of cross-border initiatives.

Participate and keep abreast of various local and regulatory initiatives (i.e. through internal teams, industry forum, conference, meetings with regulator) in order to assess impacts and coordinate discussion with relevant stakeholders to implement necessary changes to authorized local and cross border funds.

Manage internal product approval processes e.g. Hong Kong Executive Committee, Asia Pacific Product Development Committee (APAC PDC) and liaise with London for the relevant internal approvals if necessary.

Coordinate within the region on regular update on product health check and product lifecycle activities.

Operate as SME on product related matters to support local and regional sales and marketing efforts.

Work with Legal and other relevant teams on the update of the Hong Kong product documentation including fund prospectus, KFS and related ESG disclosure.

Support the regional APAC Product Development team and Client Group in identifying product gaps and opportunities, new strategies, capitalizing on market (i.e. MRF , GBA), regulatory and ESG developments / trends and reviewing commercial viability of APAC product ranges.

Assist to review and update the team’s manual and checklist to ensure the team’s processes are up-to-date and relevant and operate adhering to protocol and processes, including in relation to investment delegation and key investment personnel, for compliant to the relevant regulatory requirement

Provide on the job coaching to junior members of the team.

To be successful in this role you should possess the following requisites:

Degree graduate with preferably at least 5 years of relevant fund industry experience (a strong plus if Product Development related).

Proactive and adaptable approach.

Positive attitude and ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues across the business.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential as the role involves working closely with sales, investment, marketing, legal and compliance teams

Fluent in verbal and written English. Good in verbal and written Mandarin.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong organisational, numerical and analytical skills.

Be able to work independently while also as a team player.
