Job summary:
This opportunity is for an embedded Level 2/3 specialist at Pearson International Airport. The team supports a high availability mission critical environment, providing electronic security services.
We are looking for candidates with at least 3 years of experience supporting a DevOps or similar environment.
Core Activities:
Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation and servers, i.e. hardware, software, networked peripheral devices, cabling and networking.
Follow and complete maintenance procedural documentation.
Utilize high level of system understanding to perform lab test for new features, patches and hot fixes before deployment to production.
Support the team with on call duty.
Schedule and perform network and communication improvements, upgrades and repairs
Prepare, maintain, and adhere to procedures for logging, reporting and statistically monitoring network data.
Test and certify workstation, networks, servers and client software applications and associated peripherals and work after hours on a rotational basis.
Prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation, procedures manuals, and help sheets for network installations, including date, voice, workstation and video systems.
Assist the system engineer with drawing draft

Education and qualifications:
College Diploma in Computer Science or similar
Hands-on experience installing and configuring Enterprise level hardware
VMware certification or equivalent experience
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration and Database management
Experience with PowerShell administration and programming
Experience troubleshooting and administering Linux Operating systems
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript as asset
Industry recognized certification or equivalent experience in Electronic Security an asset.
Experience debugging software and network connectivity with essential soft skills like problem-solving, logical thinking, communication, and collaboration.
Telco exposure an asset (telephony/IP/wireless)
Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation including architectural as-built documents or equivalent.
Experience with Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM)
Experience configuring and managing IIOT systems
Experience configuring and supporting Docker Engines and Containerized applications
Experience with Enterprise storage infrastructure an asset

Knowledge about the following security applications is an asset:

Video Management System (VMS), e.g. Genetec Security System (GSC)

Access Control Systems (ACS), e.g. C*Cure
Have a working level knowledge with MS Visio, AutoCAD.
Ability to occasionally work nights for on-call and project implementation
Must have a valid driver's license and a vehicle to move between client sites.
Must have the legal right to work and remain in Canada.
Must be eligible for a two-stage security clearance background check, to be performed by Transport Canada.
