As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will design, deliver, and support cloud solutions across Microsoft 365 and Azure. Acting as a senior escalation point, you’ll tackle complex issues, ensure high service quality, and bring technical leadership to our cloud operations.
This role blends deep technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, ensuring our clients receive secure, innovative, and reliable solutions. You’ll also play a key part in DevOps practices, automation using Terraform, and embedding security-first principles into everything we deliver.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and support Microsoft 365 and Azure solutions for enterprise and SMB clients.
Provide senior-level troubleshooting and act as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
Automate infrastructure deployments and configuration management using Terraform and other IaC tools.
Work with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
Implement and manage Azure Front Door, API Management, Databricks, and Application Gateways.
Configure, secure, and optimise Web Application Firewalls (WAF), including Palo Alto, Alteon, or Azure Application Gateway.
Ensure cloud solutions are secure, compliant, and aligned with governance standards.
Monitor, optimise, and enhance performance, availability, and cost-efficiency of cloud workloads.
Collaborate with customers to translate business needs into technical outcomes.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.
Maintain clear documentation of designs, processes, and procedures.
Deliver high-quality customer service and communication to clients.
Skills \& Experience Required
Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Intune, Defender, Security \& Compliance).
Proven experience with Azure services (VMs, Networking, Storage, Entra ID/Azure AD, App Services, SQL, Kubernetes, Security).
Hands-on knowledge of Azure Front Door, API Management, Databricks, and WAF solutions.
Experience managing Palo Alto, Alteon, or Azure Application Gateway WAFs.
Excellent troubleshooting skills for complex cloud and infrastructure challenges.
Strong knowledge of Terraform (IaC) for automated deployments.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.).
Solid understanding of cloud security, governance, and compliance frameworks.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Desirable (Nice-to-Have)
Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate).
Experience with large-scale hybrid environments and migrations.
Knowledge of ASD Essential Eight, IRAP, ISO 27001 or similar frameworks.
Exposure to Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
