Shutterstock is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our TurboSquid 3D team, the industry’s leading provider of 3D models for film, gaming, architecture, advertising, and more.
You will collaborate with talented engineers to solve complex, large-scale challenges that power the world’s most trusted 3D content marketplace. Every system we build is designed to make it easier for artists to contribute and for customers to discover great 3D content.
What You’ll Do* Incrementally improve the TurboSquid 3D Marketplace experience using a data-driven approach.
Provide input that shapes the architectural and product direction of our 3D projects.
Build reliable, maintainable, and well-tested systems that scale over time.
Collaborate with peers through code reviews, mentorship, and shared learning.
Monitor and optimize production performance to ensure reliability and speed for millions of users.
What You’ll Bring* Strong full-stack engineering experience.
Advanced proficiency in Ruby on Rails.
Familiarity with modern web development technologies and frameworks.
Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Comfort with Git and GitHub for source control and collaboration.
Self-motivated and proactive; ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong mentorship and communication skills, with experience conducting constructive pull-request reviews.
Solid foundation in automated and unit testing best practices.
Bonus Skills* Knowledge of technical SEO and site performance optimization.
Experience with Stimulus, Turbo, and Tailwind CSS.
Familiarity with TypeScript, JSON:API, or GraphQL.
Experience deploying to or managing AWS environments.
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with event-driven architectures using tools such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
