What You'll Do
As a Backend Engineer at SiteRecon, you'll work on building and scaling the core infrastructure that powers our GIS platform for the landscaping industry. Your work will directly impact how hundreds of landscaping companies measure properties, conduct site assessments, and generate Responsibilities :
Build robust APIs and services that power our web and mobile applications, enabling real-time property mapping, measurement calculations, and site assessment workflows
Develop integrations with industry-leading CRMs and platforms automating data export and synchronization for our customers
Design and optimize data pipeline while handling complex GIS data
Architect systems of huge data scales using event-driven architectures to provide real-time updates and notifications to clients and third-party integrations
Build AI and ML-powered features
Support mobile applications by developing backend services for our iOS and Android apps, managing file uploads, offline sync, and real-time data synchronization
Ensure system reliability through comprehensive error handling, monitoring, and maintaining high-performance APIs that handle property data at scale
Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, frontend engineers, and cartography teams to deliver features that solve real customer problems
We are looking for seasoned engineers who can convert product requirements in to technical specifications
have experience in a fast paced startup environment
Tech Stack
Strong backend development experience with Python and/or Java.
Hands-on experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices.
Strong experience with PostgreSQL and PostGIS for spatial data management.
Solid understanding of GIS technologies and geospatial data processing.
Experience designing systems at large data scale and high availability.
Familiarity with event-driven architectures and real-time systems.
Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Proven ability to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
Experience working in fast-paced startup or product-based environments.
