As
Product Development Manager
you will play a crucial, cross-functional role, working closely with Marketing, Legal, Regulatory, Purchasing, and external labs. This key role offers an opportunity to help build a continuously growing brand and bring exciting concepts to life.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the product development across the full lifecycle, from ideation and brief creation through development, validation and market launch.
Drive the creation of breakthrough product concepts, ensuring both innovation and long-term strategy. Identify emerging trends and build on current portfolio to drive growth.
Create detailed briefs for external labs with clear ingredient direction and product priorities, while evaluating cost implications, feasibility and regulatory demands.
Analyse cost efficiency across formulas, packaging and testing. Partner with Purchasing to negotiate options and track quotations.
Ensure formulas comply with market regulations and stay current on future restrictions.
Support Marketing with ingredient and formula information, storytelling, as well as claim substantiations for content, packaging and training.
Project Management: Own end-to-end project timelines for multiple products (new launches and reformulations), ensuring all milestones are delivered on time, proactively communicating changes, risks, and impacts across departments.
Manage all formula testing, as well as clinical and consumer testing with external labs / testing partners.
Desired skills and experience:
3+ years of experience in product development in the skincare industry.
Strong understanding of skincare formulations, ingredients, claims and the development process.
Proactive, flexible and resourceful personality with good project management skills and the ability to juggle several developments at the same time.
Strong oral and written communication and storytelling skills in English and ideally German. English is the shared business language. French would be an advantage.
Very good communication and negotiation skills and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
A genuine passion for skincare and the beauty industry is a must-have.
