Senior Data Engineer (Data Lake – AWS)
Our client is a large data-driven health business who are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their Data Platform Transformation team amidst a large-scale transformation program (on-prem to cloud transformation for their EDW, data lake implementation). The team is responsible for designing and maintaining scalable cloud-based data pipelines that support large-scale analytics, reporting, and data platform initiatives.
These roles sit within the Data Lake platform team, working closely with data architects, engineers, and analytics teams to deliver reliable and scalable cloud data infrastructure.
Long-term daily rate contract (initial
12-month contract
) available for
2 x Senior Data Engineers
with strong experience across AWS data lake technologies, Glue, S3, and Python-based ETL pipelines. This role is based in Sydney or Melbourne (hybrid working environment), and Australian Citizenship is required due to security clearance requirements.
Key Responsibilities include:
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines within an AWS data lake environment
Develop and manage ETL/ELT workflows using AWS Glue and S3
Write and optimise Python-based data transformation and ingestion pipelines
Work across large enterprise datasets and complex data transformation initiatives
Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and platform teams to deliver reliable data solutions
About you:
5+ yrs of experience working as a Data Engineer in enterprise or government environments
Strong hands-on experience with AWS Glue, S3, and Python for data engineering workflows
Experience delivering large-scale data transformation or modernisation programs
Strong understanding of data lake architecture and scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
Ability to work effectively within agile delivery teams and complex enterprise environments
This is a long-term contract opportunity within a large transformation program, working on critical data platforms that support major government services.
