Snowflake's Support team is growing! We seek Staff Partner Technical Engineers who excel in working with data and resolving diverse technical issues across various operating systems, database technologies, big data, data integration, connectors, and networking.
As a key member of our support team, you will leverage your expertise in the Snowflake Data Cloud to delight customers, address application design and integration gaps, and relay feedback to our product and engineering teams. You will also help build team knowledge and drive strategic initiatives for organizational and process improvements. Experience in a 24x7 support environment and handling all tiers of technical issues is preferred.
As a Staff Partner Technical Engineer in our Support organization, you will work directly with application developers and our partners to solve complex development issues on the Snowflake Platform. You will debug, troubleshoot, write code, and create samples alongside other engineers. Additionally, you will document solutions and collaborate with product groups to enhance Snowflake products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify new opportunities to enhance the partner experience.
Document known solutions to both internal and external knowledge bases.
Act as a trusted technical advisor to partners, providing in-depth analysis and guidance to address complex problems through email, web, and phone communication.
Collaborate with account teams to establish regular touchpoints with strategic partners to provide technical and executive-level updates, including performance and health insights
Utilize Snowflake environment, connectors, 3rd-party partner software, and tools to investigate and reproduce complex issues.
Collaborate closely with product, ML, and engineering teams to influence roadmap and core platform capabilities based on partner feedback
Participate in incident management and on-call rotations.
OUR IDEAL PARTNER TECHNICAL ENGINEER WILL HAVE:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or a related discipline.
7+ years of combined experience in Technical Support, Developer Support, Full Stack Application Development, Data Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Consulting.
Solid understanding of cloud computing architecture, cloud security practices, data warehouses, and data lakes.
Proficient in supporting and administering mission-critical, large-scale database technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Netezza, Exadata, Teradata, Greenplum), and associated database migration activities.
Deep proficiency in writing, profiling, and optimizing complex SQL (including T-SQL and/or PL-SQL) queries with a focus on performance tuning and debugging.
Hands-on experience with cloud-based ETL/ELT solutions (AWS Glue, EMR, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Data Pipelines) and familiarity with BI/data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Business Objects).
Strong programming, scripting, and debugging skills in at least one major language (e.g., Java, Python, C++, R, Scala, C#, JavaScript, Go, PHP); proficiency in version control with Git; and active engagement in open-source software as a contributor or developer.
Hands-on experience with distributed computing and streaming platforms (e.g., Spark, Kafka).
Experience implementing and troubleshooting database connectivity (ODBC, JDBC), and deploying virtualization/containerization technologies (VMware, Docker, Virtualbox).
NICE TO HAVE* Experience in developer advocacy, technical community roles, and delivering personalized support through a deep understanding of customer environments.
Operations and system administration expertise (including on-call rotations), with experience supporting applications on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Background in performance engineering and security practices within technical environments.
Familiarity with data science concepts; experience or exposure to AI/ML operations, including LLM fine-tuning and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
Experience with Jupyter Notebooks, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code technologies (such as Terraform, Pulumi).

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:
The estimated base salary range for this role is $135,000 - $189,000.
Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake’s bonus and equity plan.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending \& health savings account; at least 12 paid holidays; paid time off; parental leave; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
