Project Manager – Product \& Process Improvement
Kitchener, ON, Canada
The Project Manager – Product \& Process Improvement is responsible for leading manufacturing engineering initiatives that improve product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and automation across Sonova’s operations. This role partners closely with engineering teams and manufacturing sites to identify opportunities for process optimization and deliver projects that support continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
Analyze manufacturing processes and product value chains to identify improvement opportunities across quality, delivery, cost, and innovation
Lead automation and process improvement initiatives within manufacturing engineering
Manage cross-functional projects and ensure key deliverables are achieved on time
Support product transfer projects including vendor transfers, insourcing, outsourcing, and dual sourcing
Collaborate with New Product Introduction teams to support successful product launches
Participate in Kaizen activities and continuous improvement initiatives
Develop, optimize, and implement manufacturing technologies and processes
Conduct process analysis, failure analysis, and risk assessments to improve production performance
More about you:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (robotics, materials science, process engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, microtechnology or related field)
5+ years of engineering experience improving complex manufacturing processes
Experience leading automation projects and implementing manufacturing improvements
Experience working in regulated environments such as medical device, automotive, or pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred
Strong analytical thinking with the ability to solve complex technical problems
Excellent collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional teams
A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova
