Position Overview
The EGSE \& EMC Specialist Engineer is responsible for the design, validation, and operation of Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) used for satellite and subsystem testing, as well as for ensuring Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) compliance during spacecraft integration and test (AIT) phases.
The role involves close collaboration with AIT, Systems Engineering, and Test teams to guarantee functional integrity, test accuracy, and compliance with ESA/NASA and ECSS standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and validate EGSE systems (hardware and software) to support satellite functional and environmental testing.
Plan and perform EMC/ESD tests, measurements, and analysis to verify compliance with mission and regulatory requirements.
Define and implement test setups, procedures, and instrumentation for integration and qualification campaigns.
Collaborate with AIT teams during integration, environmental, and functional test activities, providing technical support and troubleshooting.
Ensure compliance with ESA/NASA standards, ECSS requirements, and customer specifications.
Manage calibration, maintenance, and documentation of EGSE and test equipment.
Support failure investigations and non-conformance resolution related to EGSE or EMC performance.
Contribute to continuous improvement of test methodologies, equipment design, and data management.
Interface with suppliers and external laboratories for EMC/ESD testing and validation.
Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering,or a related technical field.
Proven experience in EGSE design, integration, and testing within aerospace or high-reliability environments.
Expertise in EMC/ESD testing, analysis, and mitigation techniques.
Hands-on laboratory experience with measurement instrumentation, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power systems.
Familiarity with ECSS standards, ESA/NASA testing procedures, and cleanroom operations.
Knowledge of satellite subsystems, AIT processes, and electrical interfaces.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Possession of a driving license (Category B).
Nice to Have
Experience with hardware/software EGSE development tools (e.g. LabVIEW, Python, NI TestStand).
Knowledge of spacecraft power systems, TM/TC interfaces, and test automation.
Familiarity with electrical safety standards, ESD control, and HSE requirements.
Experience with EMC simulation tools and RF shielding design.
