About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Developer to join our team in a full-time remote role. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer with strong expertise in Python, backend development, cloud technologies, and scalable system design. You will play a key role in architecting, developing, and optimizing backend services and data-driven applications.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend systems using Python
Build robust APIs and integrations with third-party and internal systems
Architect and implement microservices and event-driven systems
Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-tested code
Collaborate closely with product managers, data engineers, DevOps teams, and other developers
Troubleshoot complex issues, identify optimizations, and improve performance across applications
Drive best practices in coding standards, architecture, documentation, and deployment
Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
Contribute to CI/CD automation and cloud-based deployment pipelines
Ensure adherence to security, reliability, and scalability standards
Required Skills \& Qualifications
7–15 years of hands-on experience as a Python Developer or Backend Engineer
Strong proficiency in Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI
Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices
Solid understanding of databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design high-performance systems
Experience with CI/CD tools: Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
Strong debugging skills and experience with observability tools (logging, monitoring, tracing)
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Experience with event streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub)
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Experience with data processing frameworks (Airflow, Spark)
Understanding of machine learning pipelines and MLOps
Background in fintech, e-commerce, SaaS, or other high-scale domains
Relevant certifications (AWS Developer, Azure Developer, or similar)
Must have eligibility to work in the UK—no visa sponsorship provided
